Investment and Job Creation in Lebanon County
Flexopack USA, Inc. is set to establish its inaugural manufacturing facility in the United States with the assistance of a $500,000 investment from the state of Pennsylvania. The project, amounting to a $33 million investment, is anticipated to generate at least 64 new full-time positions in Lebanon County. This move marks a significant expansion of Flexopack’s operational footprint within the American market, specifically in the packaging sector.
Strategic Expansion and Local Partnerships
The new 107,000-square-foot facility will be strategically located at 3010 Hanford Drive in North Lebanon Township and is designed to be rail-served, enhancing logistical operations. This development represents the first phase of a planned three-phase project. Stamatios Gkinosatis, CEO of Flexopack S.A., expressed enthusiasm for the expansion which aims to support the growing packaging needs of Bell & Evans, a key Pennsylvania-based poultry company and a major client of Flexopack.
Gkinosatis extended his gratitude to Scott Sechler, owner of Bell & Evans, for his support of the project, and commended the cooperation with local authorities and the warm reception from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, underscoring the strong partnership between the entities.
Support from State Economic Programs
The Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) has offered a funding proposal including a $500,000 Pennsylvania First grant to facilitate this expansion. Additionally, Flexopack was encouraged to apply for the Manufacturing Tax Credit (MTC) and the Rail Freight Assistance Program (RFAP) through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT).
DCED Secretary Rick Siger highlighted the project as a key component of the Shapiro Administration’s focus under Pennsylvania’s 10-year Economic Development Strategy, aiming to bolster the manufacturing and agriculture sectors and drive economic growth across the state.
Flexopack operates as a subsidiary of Greek-based Flexopack International Limited, specializing in the distribution of flexible packaging, particularly for the food industry.
