Mesnac Announces $20 Million Investment in Guanajuato Tire Factory

Chinese industrial engineering firm Mesnac has committed to a $20 million investment to establish a tire manufacturing facility in Guanajuato, Mexico. This initiative forms part of Mesnac’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in North America and capitalize on Mexico’s booming automotive sector.

Leveraging Guanajuato’s Automotive Hub and Strategic Location

The upcoming factory will be located in León, a central city within Guanajuato renowned for its robust automotive production capacity, which exceeds 800,000 vehicles annually. Industry experts suggest that Mexico’s strategic position for nearshoring, coupled with its flourishing automotive industry, makes it an ideal location for Mesnac’s expansion. This facility will be developed and operated by a Hong Kong-based subsidiary.

Strengthening Mesnac’s Global Tire Mold Expertise

Mesnac, recognized as a global leader in rubber processing machinery, has long been a prominent player in the tire mold industry. The company, ranked among the top three in its field, attributes its success to advanced equipment and high-standard management systems. Mesnac also operates another facility in Akron, Ohio, which underscores its existing footprint in North America.

The new factory, set to be named Aztema Rubber & Tire Manufacturing, is expected to begin operations by March 2025. Additionally, Mesnac’s affiliate, Sailun Tire Company, recently announced a $427 million joint investment in another Guanajuato-based factory, highlighting the region’s growing importance in tire manufacturing.
